- Order Management: The PLATO software provides a platform from which to monitor and organise high volumes of orders, which are called “service requests”, these describe the logical transportation of materials between two points and may include such information as; value of goods, for insurance purposes and client tariff details. These service requests can be simple fixed-quantity orders or far more advanced orders, The Software automatically combines or spreads orders over multiple loads as necessary.
- Planning: PLATO-Scheduler uses advanced algorithms to honour real physical constraints so that it can build cost-effective loads, called “trips”. The scheduler provides realistic movement predictions of product based on extensive road network data, stop-time learning, load-bay scheduling and cross-docking. The scheduler also rates internal and contracted fleets by analysing their previous performance, suggesting the best fleet for the job.
- Haulier Allocation: Once loads have been assigned, they can be accessed through the software's interface which offers the option to query, accapt or reject loads. If queried or rejected, the software does allow the option to to re-assign them to an alternative haulier.
- PLATO- Track And Trace: PLATO manages transportation execution, called “Track And Trace”. It does this by, among other things, providing the warehouse with web interface to dispatch and receive loads , using GPS tracking to monitor the process of the trip and providing the ability to capture proof of delivery for the purpose of financial administration.
- Financial Administration: The software complements existing financial systems acting as a source of invoice and purchase order information. The software uses electronic “vouchers” to accumulate payable and receivable accounts information.
- Data Management: The integrated software provides intuitive user interfaces which manage client and hauler information , logistics-related information and contract and tariff information among other aspects. Comprehensive reporting and management of archival data are some of the security enhancement processes supported by the software.
